Murphy D. Hartford is the principal of The Law Offices of Murphy D. Hartford, LLC. He concentrates his practice on both criminal and civil litigation. His focus areas include criminal defense, personal injury law, and Worker’s Compensation issues.

Prior to forming The Law Offices of Murphy D. Hartford, LLC, Murphy and becoming Of Counsel to ENlawyers, he spent several years working for one of the busiest civil litigation and criminal litigation firms in the State, handling hundreds of cases on behalf of criminal defendants and injured persons.

Murphy also served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Baltimore City and was a supervisor in the Narcotics Unit. Mr. Hartford has handled numerous cases including homicides, attempted murders, and other serious felonies. Prior to his experience in the Narcotics Unit, Mr. Hartford interned with the U.S. State’s Attorney’s Office and worked for the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Background
Murphy earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he graduated Cum Laude in 1999. He obtained a Juris Doctorate degree with a concentration on trial advocacy and litigation from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2002. While in law school, Murphy was President of his class, took part in mediation, negotiation, and mock trial competitions, and participated in a Yale Law School radio program, Law Talk.
